https://greenspear.co.za/ The increasing level of improper waste disposal in our communities has led to tons of waste being thrown on landfills and worse on illegal dumps. This has created a hazardous living within the society as well as on the environment itself. Green Spear has identified an income generating opportunity, through the recycling of waste material, while addressing the situation. This venture will also benefit other community members mostly the unemployed.

The Proposal

The separation of waste from the source is the best solution as more waste in communities comes from the households. This operation will need intense campaign and environmental education which needs to be done across the communities. After recyclables has been sorted then they will be sold to different relevant buyers. Because of the smaller amount of money to be gained then a matrix stokvel had to be developed and introduced in the program as it will boost their earnings.

By joining our network everyone gets to share and enhance each other’s lives in a convenient and effective way.

HOW IT WORKS This is a 3x3 matrix stokvel with a registration fee of R20 once off. Firstly community has to form a group which will be an Environmental Clubs that will do environmental education, collecting waste material from households and last but not least will be sorting and selling. The sustainability of a stokvel will rely on daily task to be done by the participant which is to bring recyclable material and buy at least one loaf of bread from the group. The profit from waste recycling and bread sales will sustain the matrix.
